  • Detail

New regulations on wood packaging for export to Canada report from Wang Zhen, an intern in yaozhidong, Shenzhen: yesterday, it was learned from Shenzhen Inspection and quarantine bureau that since April 1 this year, Canada will fully implement international standards for wood packaging of Inbound Goods. South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the four countries with the largest demand in the flexible packaging market in the Middle East and Africa. The wood packaging has no IPPC mark, and the goods will be refused entry. The inspection and quarantine department shall draw the attention of the export enterprises to avoid blocking the export of goods

in order to reduce the risk of harmful organisms spread by wood packaging and avoid its inconvenience to international trade, the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) under the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has formulated the guidelines for the management of wood packaging materials in international trade (ISPM15). It is suggested that the wood packaging should be quarantined according to ISPM15 standard and labeled with IPPC before export. In June last year, a company in Shenzhen exported more than 60 containers of automobile glass to the United States. Because the wooden packaging carrying the glass was not quarantined according to the above standards before export, the goods were ordered to return after arriving at the port of destination by the U.S. authorities. The freight, loading and unloading charges, insurance premiums, yard head stacking fees and other expenses involved made the company lose nearly 10 million yuan

Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded relevant enterprises with export electromagnetic clutch failure that the wooden packaging of export goods must be quarantined and marked with IPPC in accordance with the administrative measures for quarantine treatment of wooden packaging of export goods issued by the General Administration of quality supervision, inspection and Quarantine of the people's Republic of China. At the same time, when signing the import trade contract, the inspection and quarantine requirements for the wooden packaging and the corresponding breach of contract shall be specified in the contract, Avoid unnecessary economic losses
